Everett to Host Marcellus Shale Information Session
Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming), Sen. Gene Yaw (R-Bradford/Lycoming/Sullivan/Susquehanna/Union), and the Loyalsock Creek Watershed Association will jointly host a Marcellus Shale Drilling information session at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Community Baptist Church, Route 87 between Montoursville and Farragut.
“There is a great deal of misinformation out there, and a lot of people have questions about the Marcellus Shale development, and this is an opportunity for folks to get first-hand information from experts in this field,” said Everett. “I am very pleased to be joining the Loyalsock Creek Watershed Association and Senator Yaw in this event. I am hopeful that many will attend to get the facts on what is, and will continue to be, a very important issue not only for our region but for the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”
Along with Senator Yaw and Rep. Everett, the session will feature a panel of experts including Tom Murphy, extension educator with the Penn State Cooperative Extension, who works with the Marcellus Education Team; Toby Rice, managing member of Rice Energy LP; and Jennifer Means, oil and gas program manager for the Department of Environmental Protection, North Central Region.
For more information, please contact one of Representative Everett’s district offices at either 546-2084, or 398-4476, or Senator Yaw’s Williamsport office at 322-6457.
